Bisnow CEO Will Friend Died

Will Friend, the CEO of real estate news site Bisnow, died on Sunday after being struck by lightning off the coast of North Carolina. He was 33 years old.

According to local news station WECT, Friend was on a boat near Masonboro Island when he was hit by lightning. Civilians on the island flagged down authorities, and emergency responders rushed him to an ambulance. Despite their efforts, Friend could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead 20 minutes after being struck.

Friend was a respected leader in the real estate industry, and his death has sent shockwaves throughout the Bisnow community. In a statement released Sunday night, Bisnow president David Braun said, “Will was an incredibly passionate and driven individual who loved Bisnow and our team dearly. He was an innovative thinker and had a tremendous work ethic.”
