Jack Burnell-Williams was an 18-year-old soldier and a member of the Household Cavalry. He was from Bridgend, South Wales. The young trooper was among the guardsmen who walked with the Queen’s coffin.

He walked beside Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch during her state funeral on September 19, 2022. He was the son of Daniel Burnell and Laura Williams and the brother of Elisha Burnell-Williams.

Jack Burnell-Williams died on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. He was just 18 years old. The young soldier was found unresponsive at Hyde Park Barracks in Knightsbridge, London at around 15:48 hours.

The Metropolitan police were called to the scene and they pronounced Burnell-Williams dead on arrival. The paramedics that came with the police tried their best but couldn’t save the guardsman.

Jack Burnell-Williams’ family and friends are heartbroken over the loss of his untimely and unexpected death. They are holding an event in his memory on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Bryntirion Football Club in Bridgend, South Wales.

Jack’s mother, Laura Williams, confirmed the news via Facebook. “Never ever thought I would be saying this but we as a family are all heartbroken with the sudden passing of our wonderful son Jak Williams yesterday,” she wrote.

“For all family & friends of Jak Williams, we will be setting off balloons in his memory tomorrow at 4pm at Bryntirion Football Club,” she wrote in a subsequent post.

“Please spread the word and join us in celebrating my boys life. Blue colours to be worn preferably and also blue balloons.”

Jack’s girlfriend Molly Holmes also paid tribute to her late love. “Forever going to miss you my love. Truly heartbroken,” she wrote.

“We will get through this together as a team. We need to do him just as proud as he’s done us,” said Jack’s sister Elisha.

“Such heartbreaking news. I can’t believe you’re gone. You was taken way too soon. We all love you so much my handsome nephew. You made us all so proud. Rest in peace,” said his aunt Jodie Danks.
