It is with great sadness that we share the news of longtime CBS 21 News anchor Robb Hanrahan’s passing. Robb had 38 years of experience in the broadcasting industry, and retired in 2021 to focus on his health and spend more time with his family after suffering a massive heart attack.
Robb Hanrahan has worked 38 years in the industry & generally recognized by Hanrahan. After a “major heart attack,” earlier he decided to stand down from his position and resigned last year so that he could spend more time for better health and family.
This reporter worked for CBS 21 for ten years, doing evening and late-night news. There are many examples of his reporting on historical events like the election of the president, as well as natural catastrophes and other tragedies.
As a result of his lengthy career in journalism and television, he has received several accolades such as a National Emmy nomination and the Edward R. Murrow Award.
WFOR-TV in Miami, Florida; WABC-TV in New York; and WSVS-TV in Miami formerly hired him.
He was also WHTM-anchor TV’s and reporter from the mid-80s to the early ’90s.
After his last heart attack in the year 2020. In an interview with the journal, he shared his experience of hospital.
Hanrahan said:- “That the time he spent in the hospital was the most difficult of his life, but he was able to come recover & came to home. He also shared that its a miracle that on his first heart attack
he was already in the hospital when my heart stopped for the first time. However, when I went into cardiac arrest again, things didn’t look good “In that very moment, he remembered.
In a previous interview this year, he said that the dream he experienced before he was diagnosed with an illness was vivid.
His wife, Stacey, was afterwards called and he informed her that he is not feeling good in his chest. She urged him to call an ambulance immediately.
He was sent to Harrisburg Hospital’s emergency room, where he received treatment and underwent tests.
Nurses and physicians did chest compressions until he was stunned when his heart stopped.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hanrahan family during this difficult time. Robb was a kind and gentle soul, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
