Chris Davidson, the famous ex-surfing champion, died on Sunday, September 25, 2022, after being involved in a pub brawl. He was allegedly punched in the face by a man outside a pub in South West Rocks shortly after 11 PM last night.
Davidson fell to the ground and hit his head on the pavement as per the police’s statement. Paramedics were called to the scene and treated him before taking him to Kempsey Hospital. However, he was pronounced dead shortly later.

Darren Coleman’s Brother charged with the murder of Chris Davidson
A 42-year-old man who hit Chris Davidson in the face outside the pub has been identified as NSW Waratah’s coach Darren Coleman’s brother, Grant Coleman. He was arrested in the early hours of this morning at a home in South West Rocks.
Currently, the convict is in the custody of Kempsey Police Station. He has been charged with assault causing death and refused to bail to appear before Port Macquarie Bail Court today. We’ll keep you updated as his trial moves further.

Chris Davidson, 48, was a former Surfing Champion from Australia. He was a member of the Rip Curl Search team in the early 1990s. Surfing magazine Tracks claims he was considered “one of the most gifted surfers in the world at his peak.
Davidson’s career started in 1996 when he was just 19 years old. He was granted a wildcard into the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach. It was the same place where he famously defeated Kelly Slater in two consecutive heats.
In 2010, Chris Davidson was ranked the world number 14 in surfing. Shortly after that, Davidson retired from professional surfing but never left his surfboard behind. He currently lived in the New South Wales area where he passed away.
