REGINA, Saskatchewan (AP)- A series of stabbings took place on Sunday, September 5, 2022, at an Indigenous community and at another town nearby in Saskatchewan. The tragic incident left 10 people dead and 15 others injured. Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderon have been identified as two “armed and dangerous suspects” who remain at large.

The Canadian Police Department said that they are searching across the expansive province for the two suspects. Sunday’s incident is among the most deadliest and fearful mass killings in the history of Canada.


Who are Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson?


Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30, are the two identified culprits of the series of stabbing in Saskatchewan that left 10 people dead and 15 wounded. They remain at large at the time of writing and the police are searching for them to take them into custody.

Damien Sanderson is described as 5 ft 7 inches tall and 155 pounds while Myles Sanderson is 6 ft 1 inch tall and 200 points. Both the guys have black hair, and brown eyes.

Damien and Myles were seemingly driving a black Nissan Rogue with license plate 119 MPI. They were first spotted in the vehicle in Regina, around 208 miles south of the communities where the horrifying stabbings took place.


Canadian Police continue to search for Damien Sanderson & Myles Sanderson

The police believe they are still in the city and warned the citizens to stay alert. “If in the Regina area, take precautions & consider sheltering in place. Do not leave a secure location. DO NOT APPROACH suspicious persons. Do not pick up hitchhikers. Report suspicious persons, emergencies, or info to 9-1-1. Do not disclose police locations,” the RCMP said on Twitter

The RCMP has issued a dangerous person warrant for both the man from Alberta to Manitoba. It’s also revealed that Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers previously issued a wanted list last May that included Myles Sanderson’s name.

“If Damien and Myles are listening, or receive this information, I would ask that they turn themselves into police immediately,” said RCMP Assistant Commissioner in Saskatchewan Rhonda Blackmore.

“They’re considered armed and dangerous. At this point, we don’t know if they have changed vehicles since this morning. Their location and direction of travel are unknown.”

Blackmore announced that the police began receiving reports of stabbings before 6 AM on Sunday in the First Nation Community. More reports of the attacks followed in the Indigenous community and at another town nearby in Saskatchewan.

The tragic mass killing left 10 people dead and around 15 people injured. Many others were left with non-fatal and minor injuries. The stabbings took place in multiple locations in the James Smith Cree nation and in the village of Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon.

Blackmore revealed that some of the victims appear to be targeted while some of them were attacked randomly, possibly to escape or remove eyewitnesses. She didn’t reveal a motive for the killings at the moment.

Some of the victims of the incident have been identified. A mother of two and a 77-year-old man were among them. Our heart goes out to the families of the deceased and wounded. May God offer strength to them.
