Roslyn Singleton, who’s battle with cancer went viral has passed away at the age of 39. Her husband, Ray, took to Instagram to make the announcement.
He wrote, “Our wife earned her wings yesterday while peacefully sleeping right at home where she wanted to be.” He continued by saying that this road ahead is going to be incredibly long and difficult but that we should not be sad because she is in a better place.
Roslyn and Ray first went viral after he posted a video of him serenading her before she underwent surgery for brain cancer. In the video, he told her that no matter what happened, he would always be there for her. And true to his word, he has been by her side throughout this entire journey.
What was her cause of death?
A Navy veteran has died after a years-long battle with brain cancer, her husband announced on social media. Roslyn, who was in her late 30s, fought glioblastoma for seven years before she passed away on Saturday.
The couple documented their journey on social media, from surgical scars and hospital gowns to hospice care. “Roslyn was the love of my life,” her husband wrote in a post. “She was my best friend and my world.” He added that she “fought like hell” and that he was “so proud of her.” Roslyn’s husband said she believed she might have developed cancer after exposure to toxic burn pits in Afghanistan.
“Whenever there’s something going on in my life, God always puts the right people just right in front of me to make it a little easier,” she told Novant Health in a story about her treatment posted last year.
“She credited her faith and the people around her for helping her through the diagnosis,” the story said. The average age of patients with glioblastoma is 65 years old, according to the American Brain Tumor Association. The organization says the cancer is uncommon in younger people. Roslyn is survived by her husband and two young children.
