Who was Robbie Bachman?

Robin Peter Kendall Bachman known as Robbie Bachman, was born on February 18, 1953 and was a Canadian drummer and youngest brother of guitarist, singer and songwriter Randy Bachman. Robbie’s musical career began as an original member of Brave Belt in 1970 before they became BTO in 1973. With BTO, he played drums on all their hits including “Takin’ Care Of Business”, “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”, “Let It Ride” and many more. He also wrote songs for them such as the Top 40 hit “Gimme Your Money Please” from 1975’s Four Wheel Drive album. In 1977 he left the band to pursue other artistic endeavors including photography – a passion he had from childhood – but rejoined briefly in 1984 for their reunion tour.

Bachman also played with other bands during his career such as Ironhorse (who released one album) and Piledriver (who never released any music). In addition to his drumming skills he was also a talented singer/songwriter who wrote some beautiful songs for BTO like “Take It Like A Man” (from Four Wheel Drive) which featured a rare lead vocal performance by him. He also sang backing vocals on several tracks throughout the band’s discography.

In later years he continued to perform at various events alongside his brothers Randy and Tim or solo shows with his own backing band The Carpet Frogs which featured members of another popular Canadian rock group named Payolas. He was always eager to share stories about his music career with fans who came out to see him play live or listen to him speak at seminars/panels held around Canada where he discussed different aspects of music production such as recording techniques & gear selection etc..

We will never forget Robbie Bachman and the immense talent he brought to Bachman–Turner Overdrive as well as countless other bands over the years. His influence on music will live on through his brothers’ work in Guess Who & BTO as well as other projects like Iron Horse & Piledriver who may have never recorded anything but still made an impact during their time together thanks to Robbie’s presence alone!
