It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Pearl Shongwe, a beloved radio and TV personality.Shongwe was 35 years old.
How did Pearl Shongwe die ?
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that MetroFM news presenter Pearl Ntombifuthi Shongwe had passed away. Her family said she “passed away in her sleep.” Shongwe was only 35 years old. Khehla Tshabalala, a family spokesperson, released a statement on behalf of the family. In it, he said:
“It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Pearl Ntombifuthi Shongwe. She passed away in her sleep at her Johannesburg home.” Tshabalala went on to say that the family was “heartbroken” and asked for privacy during this difficult time.
SABC1 also released a statement, saying: “Rest in Power!” Our thoughts are with Shongwe’s loved ones during this time.
What was cause of her death ?
Pearl Ntombifuthi Shongwe, a 35 year old Metro FM and Daily Thetha anchor, was found dead by neighbours who alerted the police. She was found lying dead alone in her home on her bed face down. The cause of death has not yet been revealed, but her family has asked for privacy during this difficult time. Pearl Shongwe was born in 1987 in Soweto, Gauteng, and she passed away in her sleep on Tuesday at her Johannesburg home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her

On January 3, 1987, Pearl Shongwe, a well-known TV and radio host, was born. She died at the age of 35. Pearl Shongwe was born in South Africa; she is of African descent and black ethnicity. She has experience both as a voice performer and a businesswoman.
Pearl, who competed in Miss Soweto 2011 and began her radio career in 2010 on YFM, rose to fame on Morning Live, Daily Thetha, and Season 6 of One Day Leader.

She then went on to work as a floor MC at Silverstar Casino, where she learnt the art of connecting with audiences. In 2012, she joined MetroFM as a news presenter and has been with the station ever since. In addition to her work on MetroFM, she has also appeared on various television shows, including eTV’s Morning Edition and SABC3’s Expresso. her vast experience and pleasant personality make her a perfect choice for any event.
