Who was Paul Fox?

Fox began his career as a sound engineer at A&M Studios in Los Angeles and later became a staff producer for EMI Music Publishing in New York City. His first production gig was for Grant Lee Buffalo’s album “Fuzzy” which earned him widespread recognition from critics and fans alike. Following this success, he went on to produce hits for many other bands such as 10,000 Maniacs, XTC, Phish, Texas and Sunfall Festival among others.

Fox also worked with Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians on their acclaimed albums “Gorgeous George” (1994) and “Jewels for Sophia” (1999). His work with The Sugarcubes resulted in their successful single “Hit”, while his collaboration with Too Much Joy on their second album “Mutiny” earned them a gold certification from the RIAA. He then went on to produce They Might Be Giants’ fifth studio album “Factory Showroom”, which received critical acclaim upon its release in 1996.
