Who was Max Moliken?

Max was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on March 10th 2001 and moved with his family to Collegeville when he was 9 years old. He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School in 2019 with honors, having excelled academically as well as athletically.

He had gone on to pursue a degree in business at Temple University while also working part-time as an intern at a local accounting firm. Throughout his life he had shown himself to be an industrious young man who valued hard work and dedication.

Max was beloved not only by his friends but also by his community which he served selflessly through volunteer work and charitable donations alike. He provided countless hours of service to the Saint Joe’s Soup Kitchen over the course of several years and actively participated in fundraisers for numerous non-profit organizations throughout Montgomery County.

He was known for his brilliant sense of humor which brought joy to everyone around him on even the darkest days – creating lasting memories which will never be forgotten by those lucky enough to have known him best.

The Montgomery County District Attorney and Collegeville Borough Police Chief announced an investigation into the tragic crash that occurred last week in Collegeville. On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 4pm a white Nissan Rogue collided with 21-year-old Max Moliken of Collegeville near the intersection of Second Avenue and Park Avenue. After receiving critical injuries from the accident, Moliken later succumbed to his wounds. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement attempts to determine what caused this catastrophic event that cost an innocent young life.

Collegeville Borough Police responded to the accident scene at Second Avenue and Park Avenue for a pedestrian-vehicle crash involving a white Nissan Rogue. Police arrived to find the victim lying in the roadway suffering from multiple, serious injuries. He was flown to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was pronounced dead at 8:59 p.m., Dec. 14, 2022. The driver of the Nissan Rogue, who was not injured, remained on scene and has been cooperative with police. The investigation, which is expected to take several weeks, is being conducted by Collegeville Borough with assistance from the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and members of the Regional Crash Reconstruction Team.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21st 2022 at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home and the family requests that all visitors come with thoughts of Max in their hearts rather than flowers or other material tokens of sympathy.
