Who was Maurice Campbell?
Maurice Campbell was a University of Pennsylvania student. He was a Sophomore year student who was admired by everyone around him. Before coming here, Maurice attended Horace Mann School in New York.
He was a student of Health and Societies at Penn College. Outside of academics, Maurice also contributed as a reporter for The Daily Pennsylvania, He worked in the sports department and covered a variety of sports including volleyball and basketball.
How did Maurice Campbell?
Maurice Campbell died on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. His exact age at the time of his passing is unknown at this time but he was reportedly in his 20s. The young man’s death has left his peers and family members shocked.
Campbell’s family stated in the email to the Penn Community that they “want to believe that [their] son is a tiny ripple of hope.”
“He was the voice of reason who would cause people to pause and think, even when emotions were running really, really high,” his family added.
Campbell’s father Maurice Campbell Sr. also revealed that his son cared deeply for his friends, family and the countless individuals at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Memorial Sloan Kettering who “treated him with compassion” in the email.
