Millie and Liam have announced their split. In a statement posted to Instagram, Millie said it had been a “tough decision” but the right one. Liam shared a similar message, saying he was “heartbroken” but would remain friends with Millie.

The pair won the 2021 series of Love Island, beating fellow finalists Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran to claim the £50,000 prize. Though they seemed like the perfect match on the show, it appears that real life was a different story. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see if any more couples from the show meet the same fate.

Why did Liam and Millie split?

The two participants acknowledged having had a “wonderful experience” with each other on Love Island and expressed their most sincere hopes for the coming years.

Millie shared with her 1.9 million Instagram followers, “It’s been a horrible choice, and I’m devastated, but ultimately, it’s the best thing for us now. “I am grateful to everyone for your help during our time together.”

We’re both excited for the next chapters, and I’m eager to see what’s to come, she added.

While visiting, Liam had an affair with participant Lillie Haynes. Haynes later admitted to Millie.

They then went on to win the competition, beating their fellow finalist Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran to claim the prize of PS50,000. However, she later repaid the man.

Before revealing that he was moving to her hometown in December 2021, Liam of Wales and Millie from Essex were together in a long-distance relationship.
