Kouji Mori Kentaro Miura Manga: Fans of the manga lamented not just the loss of one of the most prominent illustrators of his time, but also the early demise of one of the most critically praised Manga’s of the previous 30 years, after the death of Berserk creator Kentaro Miura last year.
In the late hours of Monday, the department that edits Young Animal, which also manages the Berserk manga magazine in Japan since 1992, stated in an open letter that Miura’s assistants will continue to draw the series and edit the manga under the direction of manga writer Kouji Mori, a coworker and childhood friend of Kentaro Miura.
In a statement, Young Animal declared that “We will restart the famous Manga Berserk series soon. “Please accept our sincere apologies(sic) for this much delay in making such announcement.
According to the statement, Miura was known to have extensive chats with Mori previous to his death regarding the plots and arcs he had in the back of his mind for Berserk and the series’ finale.
After Miura’s death, Mori considered giving an interview or writing an essay on what he knew about Berserk’s impending end, but instead accepted an invitation to continue the series from Studio Gaga, Miura’s manga studio run by his apprentices and helpers.
In the statement, Mori claimed, “I have a message and a pledge to everyone that “I’ll remember the details as best I can and give you the narrative. […] The only things I’ll write about are the episodes Miura and I discussed. I’m not going to go into detail about it.” Mori continued by saying that “Many of you may not have been completely satisfied with your Berserk scripted sans Miura experience. We’d appreciate it if you could share your ideas with us.

Young Animal will release six more chapters in the future of the series, concluding “Fantasia” and the “Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter,” before going on to the next arc. “Original work by Kentarou Miura, manga by Studio Gaga, overseen by Kouji Mori,”
Dark Horse will publish the last book of Berserk, edited by Miura, in English in November 2022.
