It is with great sadness that we report the death of a teenage boy who was involved in a serious incident at a funfair in Kent. Emergency crews were called to Pencester Gardens in Dover at around 7.45am this morning, and the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The site was hosting the Family Funfair run by Kent-based Forrest Amusements, and locals said they had heard that a group of around six youngsters had climbed over fencing to enter the fairground.
The owners of the event issued a statement today which said they were “deeply shocked and saddened” by the incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who lost his life.
The sudden death of a teenager in such a age is always painful for life, although the circumstances surrounding this incident are still unclear.
“What is clear is that the South East Coast Ambulance Service did everything they could to save the boy’s life”. Dispatching their HART team and Critical Care Paramedics to the scene, they sadly were unable to revive him.
The road adjacent to the park where he was found has been reopened, but the community is still in mourning.

Witnesses described seeing officers interviewing people at the scene, and a spokesman for Forrest Amusements has now issued a statement. The company is clearly devastated by what has happened on their site.
The dead person is recognized as construction worker at a building site in Dover. The incident took place at 7.45am on Wednesday 3 August 2022, and emergency services were immediately called to the scene.
Kent Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner. The Health and Safety Executive has also attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
‘Some eye witness of the situation explained how did this accident occurred’ –
“Catherine Dennison” – explained the scenario that this day of her life started like any other day. But as she left her house to see what was causing all the commotion, she quickly realized that this was anything but a normal day.
A fleet of emergency vehicles had converged on the park, and a crowd of bystanders was gathered near the scene.
Dennison spoke to one of the witnesses, a young boy who had watched the accident unfold.
The boy told her that a 14-year-old boy had been climbing on the frame of a ride when his friends warned him to get down.
But he didn’t listen, and he lost his footing and fell. The boy was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late.
He didn’t survive the fall. The tragedy has left the community shaken, and Dennison can’t help but wonder what could have been done to prevent such a senseless loss of life.
It’s not clear what caused the teenager to fall from the ride, but witnesses say he was climbing on the frame when he lost his footing and fell. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
