According to the official report from the Hampton Police Department in Virginia Beach, Kayla’s life was taken as a result of injuries suffered in a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred around 8:30 pm in Hampton on Friday night. Details are still emerging as authorities investigate the scene of the accident and speak to witnesses. Until more information is released it will remain unknown what caused this tragedy.

Kayla Bartley Facebook page has been filled with tributes from all over the world expressing grief for her loss and celebrating her life. Victoria Bartley of Yorktown, VA described her sister as “a bright light and shining star who always brought joy and laughter into any room she entered.” Her obituary reads that she “brought happiness wherever she went” and “was passionate about sports and loved spending time with her family” A memorial service will be held at St John’s Episcopal Church on Saturday afternoon February 11th at 2pm EST with Pastor Steve Adams officiating.
