Those who spoke with him remarked how comfortable they instantly felt – as if they’d known him for years – testament to his genial nature. He had a confidence that was inspiring yet humble and motivated many of those near him to strive for greater accomplishments regardless of their station in life. Hatcher truly touched the lives of so many during his time thanks to the light he shined from within whether it be through sports or simply by having a conversation.

Never the news you want to get. I never had the pleasure of having JJ in class, but I had his older brother in class, and his older sister in class, basketball and softball. Great family. Thoughts and prayers to the Hatcher family, and RIP JJ.
