She was born to her parents, Amelia, and Darragh and she originally hails from Mooncoin, Ireland. She was raised alongside her five siblings and she was the eldest one. On 14 November 2022, Vicky Phelan passed away after prolonged suffering from cervical cancer, she took her last breath in the early hours of Monday morning. Reportedly, she had suffered from cervical cancer for around eight years. She was first diagnosed with the disease in 2014 and started treatment a week later.

Phelan died at Milford hospice in County Limerick early on Monday morning surrounded by her family. Her death news came out after her husband Jim, Amelia &Darragh, friends & family confirmed it.
