Who was Robert Arrigo?
Born on December 4, 1954, Robert Arrigo was a Maltese hotelier and politician. He served as the deputy leader for party affairs of the Nationalist Party between 2017 and 2022. He was also a prominent businessman in Malta.
Arrigo also served as Mayor of Sliema and as the chairman of Sliema Wanderers F.C. He was elected president of the football club in 1996. Moreover, he was also vice president of the Neptunes Waterpolo club.
Arrigo was an entrepreneur before anything. He set up a tourism company “Robert Arrigo & Sons Ltd.” and entered politics in 1994. Coming to his education, Arrigo was educated at Stella Maris College, Balzan, St. Sloysius’ College, Birkirkara, and the University of Malta, Msida.

Robert Arrigo, the veteran politician and businessman, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the age of 67. He was battling Cancer after being diagnosed with the disease in May. Arrigo had been undergoing chemotherapy as his condition was worsening.
Just this month, Arrigo announced a charity event for Cancer NGO Puttinu Cares which was scheduled for December with a buffet dinner. Unfortunately, he passed away and the event would go forward as a memorial now.

Robert Arrigo passed away after having a battle with cancer. He was 76 years old at the time of his death. Arrigo had been suffering from cancer but the diagnosis came pretty late, in May 2022. This decreased his chances of defeating the disease.
Still, the brave man was undergoing chemotherapy with his never-say-die attitude. Unfortunately, he succumbed to cancer earlier today.

Tributes have emerged for Robert Arrigo following his untimely demise due to cancer. Several renowned names have sent wishes and prayers toward his soul.
Party leader Bernard Grech led the tributes. “You will be remembered for your valuable work, for your loyalty to the party but above all for the love you had for this nation,” he said. He also revealed that they had met several days ago despite Arrigo’s illness and talked about the party.
Robert Arrigo is survived by his wife Marina and his two sons Alan and Andrew.
