Who was Dennis Castrol?
Officer Dennis Castro was an exemplary member of the Boynton Beach Police Department for 14 years and held several specialized positions within the department. He served as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, and community service officer. In 2016, he received the department’s Blue Heart Award for his bravery and heroism when it came to protecting citizens from harm. His supervisor described him as “a faithful servant who always kept his head up even when facing adversity” and said that “he will be sorely missed by everyone at BBPD who knew him”.

Saturday morning, Dennis Castro of Boynton Beach, unfortunately suffered multiple significant injuries in a fatal one-vehicle crash. On 10 December 2022, he sadly passed away due to those injuries. His death was reported by the Boynton Beach Police Department.
What was the cause Dennis Castro death?
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time; however, investigators believe that speed may have been a factor in the crash due to icy road conditions on Saturday night. According to reports, Officer Castro’s vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, rolled over several times before coming to rest upside down in a nearby ditch where it caught fire. The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue responded quickly to put out the flames but were unable to save Officer Castro’s life.
