A year after his divorce with Ammidow, Miller married actress Barbara Stanger in 1976 and then they worked together on several screenplays. Miller wrote, produced, and starred in the 1982 classic family film Savannah Smiles, which was named on his youngest daughter. Miller also wrote the 1995 Keanu Reeves vehicle, A Walk in the Clouds. He returned to stage in 2010 when his play Amorous Crossing was produced by the Alhambra Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida.
