How did Jessica Klein die?


Jessica Klein died on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the morning at her Beverly Hills home. She was suffering from Pancreatic Cancer and it became the ultimate cause of her demise. She was 66 years old. Klein was diagnosed with the fatal disease in November last year.

The tragic news of Klein’s death was announced by her daughter Shira Rose. “My mom passed at 8:21 AM this morning. It was peaceful. We were together. Will share funeral and shiva information when I know. It will all be here in LA,” she wrote.

She also confirmed that her mother passed away “fulfilled, surrounded by her biggest fans, her family.” The news of Klein’s passing emerges just days after the actress on her show Robyn Griggs.


Jessica Klein Early Life and Career

Jessica Klein was born on March 14, 1956, in Manhattan. She was raised by her father, the co-founder of Barton’s Candy and a Holocaust survivor, and her mother, a senior administrator at Weill Cornell Medical College. Jessica received a degree in psychology and social relations from Harvard Radcliffe in 1977.

She made her television debut as an assistant on “Sesame Street.” After that, she worked as a writer, producer, and head of creative on “Make It Pop” and “The Other Kingdom” alongside some other projects.

Jessica married her literary partner, Steve Wasserman, in the late 1970s after relocating to Los Angeles. The couple joined “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1991 where Jessica held credits as writer, story editor, and producer in 46 episodes of the Fox primetime soap.

Wasserman passed away in July 1998. After her husband’s demise, Klein also worked on Just Deal, Sk8, and Scout’s Safari. Some of her other notable projects include Secret Central, Mancuso, FBI, Gabriel’s Fire, and Northern Exposure.

Klein also worked as a supervising producer credit for 20 episodes on The Other Kingdom in 2016. She also worked as the consulting producer credit for 22 episodes on Make It Pop at the same time.

In 2019, Klein got hired by Studio Brat as VP of Programming in order to attract Generation Z.

Jessica Klein is Survived by her Children and Grandchildren

Jessica Klein married for the second time in 2000, to Isaac Levenbrown. He was a wedding painter and audiovisual expert. The couple moved to Virginia in 2011. Klein started teaching screenwriting at Drexel University there.

After Levenbrown’s death, Klein relocated to Toronto and then went back to Los Angeles where she spent the rest of her life.

Jessica Klein is survived by her daughter Shira Rose, her stepchildren Josh, Brittany, and Jonathan, her grandchildren Shayna, Mendel, Zisi, Asher, Lily, and Elliott, and her brother David.
