It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the loss of one of our own. Last night, senior Nathan Wimsatt was involved in an automobile accident that claimed his life. Nathan was a member of the soccer and tennis teams, was a beloved member of our school community, and will be greatly missed by all. Please be in prayer for Nathan’s family, our students, and our staff as we face the grief that the coming days will bring.
Tomorrow, grief counselors will be set up in the SCHS library to provide support for all staff and students. Additionally, we will be delaying KSA testing (which was set to begin tomorrow) to focus on the well-being of our school family. If anyone needs support, please reach out to us.

A fatal car accident occurred in our community last night that took the life of SCHS Senior, Nathan Wimsatt. Taylorsville Community Church is opening up their doors at 4:00 p.m. for anyone that may need extra support. There will be grief counselors and the crisis team will be on hand. They will have prayer at 5:00 for anyone that wants to attend. I’m also being told that Grief Counselors and a Crisis Team will be available at SCHS tomorrow for any student that needs support. As other information becomes available, I’ll share it. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families. And, also with our First Responders.

This is the worst fear we as parent have. Only God has all the answers. And I pray with all my heart that He will comfort this family in every way. My heart is so saddened by this tragic loss.
The loss of Nathan Wimsatt has left a void in the hearts of many. We remember him as a talented athlete, a loyal friend, and a loving son and brother. While his passing is a devastating loss for the SCHS community, we take comfort in remembering the joy and positivity that Nathan brought to the lives of those around him.
