Iran has been rocked by protests over the last week, triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini following her arrest by the morality police. The latest casualty of the unrest is 20-year-old Hadis Najafi, who was killed by security forces while protesting in Karaj city.
Najafi’s sister has spoken out against her killing, saying “They killed her with six bullets.” The Iranian government has so far arrested more than 1,200 protesters and the death toll now stands at 41.
The unrest shows no sign of abating, with further protests planned for today. The situation in Iran is extremely volatile and it remains to be seen how much longer the government will be able to hold onto power. After the incident got the social media attention where whole world is mourning for such a loss.
The woman’s family released footage of her funeral on Sunday.
