Franci Swanepoel Died at the Age of 50, Her Cause of Death Explained

Franci Swanepoel, a South African actor, tragically passed away in her sleep on Sunday, aged 50. Her cause of death has not yet been made public, but according to Maroela Media, it is believed that she died in her sleep.

Swanepoel was an extremely prolific Afrikaans TV presenter, news reader, producer, director, and actor. She starred in multiple shows including her role as Toeks Jobert in the kykNET soapie Binnelanders. She also starred in Getroud met Rugby, a show about a rugby player who married a woman with two children.

Although the details surrounding Swanepoel’s death are still unclear, what is known is that she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Following the news of her death, fellow South African actors took to social media to pay tribute to the veteran star. “In addition to her exceptional talent, class and intelligence, Franci was an exceptional person. Warm, sincere, honest. So much care about our industry,” fellow actor Lizz Meiring tweeted.

Her talent agency, Talent-ETC, confirmed the news on Instagram with a touching tribute. “You will be loved and missed until the end of time,” it wrote in the caption alongside a photo of Swanepoel.
