A horrific news has burst out of Australia, as a truck accident took place at Hume Highway today, on Monday, September 19, around 2 p.m. in Victoria. The accident occurred about 3km north of Harrys Creek Road on the southbound side of the Hume, which is the Hume Highway exit for Violet Town.
Following the accident, it was confirmed by Ambulance Victoria that two people were being treated at the accident scene and an air ambulance had been dispatched.

Hume Highway Truck Accident
Briefing about the Hume Highway Truck accident, the Acting Inspector of Victoria Police, Damian Keegan, said, “There was a collision between a B-double truck and a rigid truck near the Harrys Creek Rd overpass when both the trucks were travelling south.”
The accident happened at around 2 p.m. on Monday, September 19. After the accident, it was confirmed by Ambulance Victoria that two people had been seriously injured in the tragic incident. They were being treated at the accident scene, and an air ambulance had been dispatched.
As per the CFA Media, seven CFA vehicles were dispatched to the accident location just after 2 p.m. and they were supported by Fire and Rescue Victoria, Ambulance Victoria, and Victoria Police.

According to the media reports, the rigid truck driver was taken to Benalla by road ambulance and then he was flown to a Melbourne-based Hospital by airlifting due to “life-threatening injuries.”
Although one driver was rescued, the emergency personnel were not able to rescue the second driver until 4:30 pm. After over three hours of hard work, the emergency crew was able to free the B-double driver, who was later sent to a Melbourne hospital in a serious condition.
What happened to the Hume Highway traffic?
Following the truck collision on the Hume Highway, the Melbourne-bound lanes of the highway have been closed between Violet Town and Euroa. Drivers can only use the route south to return to the Hume Freeway, just north of Seymour.
Detour signs have been installed throughout the highway and they will be directing traffic off the highway through Violet Town, then along Murchison-Violet Town Road via Miepol and Moorilim to reach the Goulburn Valley Hwy. The Hume accident is in the charge of Victoria Police Department and they will reopen the road once all the investigation is completed and the road is safe for travelling.
