Evelyn Ogutu was a renowned journalist and media personality from Kenya. She was born in Kisumu but her family later moved to Kericho. She went to Mercy Girls Secondary School and Kipkelion Township Primary School there.
After that, Ogutu graduated from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and Kenyatta University. She started her career working for the Standard Group on Mombasa Road as a journalist.
She also worked as a writer for the news organization and later moved to Nairobi. Okutu contributed to SG publications such as Instinct and Eve Woman. Ultimately, she transitioned to public relations.
Okutu worked on PR strategy for the East African Community. She was the head of communications at the Heinrich Boll Foundation.

Kenyan journalist Evelyn Ogutu died on Friday, November 11, 2022, at a very young age. She passed away just after giving birth to twins through the caesarian section at a Nairobi hospital. The doctors were shocked by the lady’s death after giving birth.
Fortunately, the newborn twins are alive. Doctors are monitoring their progress following the death of their mother. They are currently kept in the Intensive Care Unit. The good thing is that their condition is stable as per the latest report.

A digital obituary was published for Kenyan journalist Evelyn Ogutu following her sudden death after giving birth to twins. It was followed by several tributes, prayers, and wishes for the late mother who leaves behind five children.
These included three of Ogutu’s older children and the two newborn twins. People are paying respect to the deceased while sending prayers for the children.
“There are people who we meet and make our friends, then there are those who become our friends before our first meeting, then one day, you go to a WhatsApp group, and you meet the news that she will never call again,” wrote Dennis Itumbi, a digital media strategist.
“This is devastating news. I can’t believe this,” ODM Communications Director wrote.
“Rest well, my childhood friend. You crossed my mind. Recently wish I had reached out to you as I did during the Ducit moment…..it is well…” wrote a friend.
