Officials reported that Shonka Dukureh, who was most known for her role as Big Mama Thornton in the movie ‘Elvis‘ had died at 44.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Dukureh discovered dead in her Nashville apartment where she resided with her children.

One of her children ran to neighbor when they found their mom unconscious in her bedroom. Understanding the importance of situation neighbor immediately contacted the 911.

Officials have not suspected any foul play for now, but an autopsy will be undertaken to ascertain the cause of her death. Police claimed they are confident that her death is natural. Further details of her death will be disclosed after autopsy.

Dukureh is well recognised for her appearance with Austin Butler in the Elvis movie. Doja Cat also saw Dukureh play onstage at Coachella this summer to work on the tune Vegas for Elvis’ soundtrack.
