Devin Clark and Lyric Woods found dead on Sunday in Orange County
Devin Clark and Lyric Woods, the two North Carolina teens went missing together around the evening on Friday. The dead bodies of the teens have been found on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Orange County, North Carolina.
No cause of death was revealed by the police at the time of writing as the investigation for definitive murder ensues. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the two bodies were found in the Western part of the county.
“Orange County deputies responded to Western Orange County this afternoon after two men reported discovering a pair of bodies just off a power-line easement. The men were riding four-wheelers checking trail cameras,” stated the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
“Investigators are processing the area for evidence and the medical examiner is on the scene,” the statement added.
“No additional information is available at this time.”
Devin Clark and Lyric Woods went missing on Friday
Officials issued an amber alert on Friday as an 18-year-old boy Devin Clark and 14-year-old girl Lyric Woods went missing. The two were reportedly friends and were seen together the last time.
Devin Clark was last seen on Friday, in the morning, leaving his house in Mebane. He was 6’3” and weighed 180 pounds, and was a Junior at Eastern Alamance High School. Whereas, Lyric Isabella Woods was a ninth-grader at Cedar Ridge High School.
She was 5’6” and was last seen around Alamance County in the company of Clark. The two went missing in the evening and the police continued to search for the two teens.
Who killed Devin Clark and Lyric Woods?
It’s not known who killed Devin Clark and Lyric Woods at the time of writing. According to the reports, an adult man was said to have picked both Clark and Woods on Friday. The initial investigation has framed the unidentified men as the suspect in the double murder.
North Carolina Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office are carrying out investigative measures currently. Autopsy reports are awaited at this time. More information will be available later.
Families react to the death of North Carolina Teens
The two families are shattered upon the death of their kids. Lyric Woods’ mother, Jennifer Johnson Woods, shared a heartbreaking social media post confirming that her daughter has been found dead.
“It is with shattered hearts that this nightmare ended with us losing our child,” she wrote.
Previously, Devin Clark’s mother, Concepcion, posted a video on Facebook Sunday afternoon which revealed that her son and Lyric were good friends. Clark’s family is yet to share a statement after the news of Devin and Lyric Woods’ death.
