Who was Dan Cerrillo?
Dan Cerrillo aka Spartan7adventr was born in California in 1972 and grew up in a military family. His father served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and this instilled a sense of service and duty in Dan from an early age. Dan joined the Navy in 1991 and went on to become a member of BUD/S Class 194, where he distinguished himself as a highly skilled and dedicated operator. He was assigned to SEAL Team One, where he served as an instructor and operator, and later joined the Naval Special Warfare Center/Special Operations instructor staff in 1998.
Dan’s contributions to the SEAL community were immense. He was a founding member of the Navy SEAL Fund’s Board of Directors, which provides assistance to SEALs and their families in times of need. My dad told me one day he was planning on getting tattoos. And I was young so I said “but dad tattoos are for scary people!” But when I look at these photos now, I remember how much I came to love the work of art he wore. Dan Cerrillo You would be the first to admit you didn’t live the perfect life. But you lived a full one. There were so many titles you like to have, frogman, business owner, coach. But there were titles you loved to have, father, husband, mentor, brother. You saved my life more than I can count. You were one of the first men outside of my blood family to say “I love you” to me, and I knew you meant it. You taught me the importance of when friends call, you answer. While other companies made pledges to hire veterans you put your money where your mouth was and put hundreds of veterans to work. The lessons you taught will echo for generations to come. Fair winds and fair seas. Rest easy my brother. We have it from here. I miss you and I love you brother.
