Carson Gil Hernandez was an incredibly vivacious fourteen-year-old from Glasgow, Kentucky. Born on October 8th, 2009, he attended Barren County Middle School in the eighth grade and lived with his parents, Russell and Lorie Hernandez. In addition to his academic life, he filled up every available second enjoying the outdoors – hunting, fishing, riding off-road on his four-wheeler. If it drizzled or darkened outside, you might find him in his room virtually gaming with friends and family or drooling over ogle 5 squarbody trucks online. He also graduated from Barren County High School and worked at his father’s store in Edmonton.
He is survived by his parents, Russell Hernandez of Edmonton, Kentucky, and Lori and Kelly Emmert of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, one sister, Cailee Hernandez and her boyfriend Jackson Pemberton, and his younger brother, Kellen Rush Emmert, as well as his grandparents, Nelson and Josie Hernandez of Glasgow, Kentucky, Randall and Lou Ann Bartley, and Kenny and Carolyn Emmert, all of Tompkinsville. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a slew of friends have also survived.

My sister and brother in laws nephew Carson Hernandez was in a car accident Saturday night a few minutes away from our house. We are devastated, and just don’t understand why. He was so fun and full of life. He was Lillys side kick, the one who always played with her and I always said he was her “future husband”. We all love him like our own.. so if you could please pray for all of his family and friends it would be appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, with burial to follow in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. The services will be officiated by Bro. Darrick Proffitt.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday, February 17, 2023, after 10:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00 p.m.
