On Friday, Busy announced her split from her husband, Marc Silverstein.
During an episode of her podcast Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best on Friday, May 27, 2022, Philipps disclosed her split from her husband, Marc Silverstein.
“It’s been a really long time since Marc and I have been apart, and our kids know, our relatives know, our friends know,” the 42-year-old told her co-hosts. And we spoke about how I should handle it publicly because it was February of last year when we initially split up.
“But the truth is, we, know, there’s a conventional understanding of what a person in the public eye is supposed to do when their relationship ends, and it’s been pretty well established, right?” the Girls5eva star continued. Like, you make a statement, you’re committed to remaining friends, and you say things like, ‘Please respect our privacy and our family’s privacy during this time,’ right? But the truth is, who came up with that rule? That’s how you do it? I’m not joking.”
“When Marc and I initially separated, we couldn’t even think about putting one of those things out — it made us sick, both of us, honestly sick,” Busy continued. It’s going to be a long voyage. Jour-ney. It’s been an adventure.”
Philipps also discussed the couple’s two children.
The American actress revealed on her podcast how the pair keeps their children’s privacy, saying, “The surest way that Marc and I have been able to preserve the privacy of our kids who we love so much was by not involving the public.”
“Well, we love each other — very lot!” the Cougar Town alum continued, “Well, we love each other — very much!” And we have these lovely children together. And there are a lot of things about our relationship that work.”
What year did Philipps and Marc tie the knot?
In the year 2007, Busy married screenwriter Marc Silverstein. On June 16, 2007, they exchanged vows. In 2008, Philipps and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Birdie Leigh Silverstein was their daughter’s name.
In 2013, the couple welcomed their second child into the world. Cricket Pearl Silverstein was the name given to their second child. In her memoir, This Will Only Hurt a Little, released in 2018, the Dawson’s Creek star discussed her marriage to the producer, stating that their relationship had hit a hard point, prompting her to seek emotional support from another guy.
“There was a man I was friends with,” Busy wrote. We’d been eating lunch and doing other things. Texting, and I spend a lot of time on the phone. I had a thing for him, and he appealed to me. Is it possible that I had feelings for him? He seemed to like me as well.”
