In 2009, a young man named Adji Desir went missing in Midland, Texas. Since then, the Midland Police Department has been searching for Adji’s family and any information about his whereabouts. Though it has been over decade since he disappeared without a trace, the search for Adji continues to this day. Let’s take a look at Adji’s story and why his case is so important.
Who Is Adji Desir?
Adji is believed to be between 13 and 17 years old with black hair and brown eyes. He is mentally disabled with the mental capacity of a two-year-old. He understands Haitian Creole but cannot speak it. When he was last seen near Ward Street and Shandon Avenue in Midland, he was wearing a blue shirt with white stripes and blue shorts with white stripes. It is believed that he may have either been abducted by a non-relative or wandered off himself.
The Search for Adji Desir
Unfortunately, very little is known about what happened to Adji or where he might be today. The police have released multiple sketches of what he would look like now as an adult in the hopes that someone will recognize him and come forward with information about his disappearance. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has also released an age-progression photo that shows what he may look like today if he had not been found in all these years since his disappearance in 2009.
In addition to these photos, the police have asked anyone who might recognize him or has information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately so they can reunite him with his family as soon as possible. They are also looking for any information on potential relatives of his who may have moved away from the area after 2009 when he went missing. Any help could potentially bring closure to this heartbreaking case and reunite him with his loved ones after more than 10 years apart.
