Goodrick’s love for music began in his childhood, as he began studying guitar in his pre-teens and started to perform professionally a few years later. When he was just sixteen, he became interested in jazz at a Stan Kenton band camp. He attended the Berklee School of Music from 1963–1967, the same place he later joined as a guitar professor.
