MANDATORY DISCLOSURES

 

The college has a modern central library equipped with Audio-Visual aids, Xerox machine and Internet facility for the students. Approximately 1,25,000 books, a large number of magazines and 450 periodicals for research are available in the library. To provide additional support to the weaker section of the students, a book bank is also running in the library. Apart from central library, departmental libraries are also being run in some P.G. departments.

The Total number of books in the College Library is more than 1,25,000 and about 2000 books have been added during the session under report. About 353 foreign and Indian journals and News-paper and subscribed by the college for students. The average numbers of students visiting the Library is more than 872 per day. The number of books issued to students and members of the Staff was 15281. 503 reserved books were issued to students and members of the staff for consultation inside the Library and 4836 books have been issued to various PG Departmental Libraries of the College.

VIDEO LIBRARY

In video section of the Library, more cassettes on wide ranging topics have been provided to keep our students aware of the latest knowledge and techniques in all fields of modern advancements. This is proving as a boon for our young generation. The total number of cassettes in the Video Section of the Library is 130 covering the chapters of social, political, environmental and economic aspects.

BOOK BANK

Book-Bank started functioning in the college in the year 1975. The total no. of books in the Book-Bank in the session 2002-2003 is 30834 an against 30716 during the session 2010-2011. In all 14,216 books were issued to the students from the book-Bank during the current session. Thus the Book-Bank has been offering the facilities to College students who need to borrow them. Almost all those who applied for the loan of books out of the Book-Bank were issued books, they needed. The special care was taken to issue the books from the book-Bank to the poor and needy students belonging to the weaker section of the society viz BC, OBC, ST and SC categories.

General Library Access Rules :

  1. Entry by Identity Card only.
  2. In absence of Identity Card, a letter of introduction from the Head of Department is required, which will be valid for a day only.
  3. Personal printed reading materials (including Xerox Copy) are not allowed inside the Library.
  4. Personal belongings (except note books) are to be kept at property counter against token.
  5. Photography is strictly prohibited.
  6. Outsider can consult the library for Research purpose, (after producing letter of introduction from Supervisor/Head of Deptt. to the University Librarian).
