National Conference on Synthesis and Characterization of Smart Materials (SCSM – 2009) The recent progress in the area of the synthesis, characterization and applications of nanomaterials, polymers, composite materials etc. is setting up new horizons in condensed matter physics, material chemistry, device technology, biotechnology and environmental sciences. A high quality and a new class of materials are available now with a wide range of desired and tunable properties. This conference aims to provide an opportunity to the participants to contribute, gain and aware themselves by the useful and scopes in this highly inter-disciplinary field of smart materials. A National Conference on Synthesis and Characterization of Smart Materials (SCSM – 2009) will be held at Department of Physics, Bareilly College, Bareilly affiliated to M. J. P.
